Getting Involved

Our center is looking for people who have an interest in community and grassroots work.  All interns and volunteers should be organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented and willing to learn. Strong writing and speaking skills are preferred. Bilingual students (Asian languages & Spanish) are especially encouraged to apply.

Conflict Resolution Specialists (CRS) Interns and Volunteers will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Conducting intake interviews, interacting with clients and performing casework
• Possibility of observing and participating in mediation (with completed training)
• Assisting with community education, public presentations and outreach programs
• Assisting in the day-to-day activities and special projects
  

Conflict Resolution Specialists must attend the 30-hour mediation and conflict resolution training. Intern and volunteer positions are available throughout the year. Hours are flexible, but Conflict Resolution Specialists are expected to work a minimum of 10 - 12 hours per week, preferably a 3 - 4 hour shift 3 times a week for at least 16 weeks.
